The main heroes of this story are Lakshmi aged eight years old who was the eldest child in the family and her younger brother, Srinivasan. They lived in extreme poverty, but they had the gift of God to look at all aspects of their life in a positive way. The children’s father was a manual laborer and in order to maintain his family’s needs had grown to work in a neighboring village, Mani Muthaaru.
